Career Bio

Dr. Silvia Zheng (MBBS, BSc (Med), PhD, FRACP, FRCPA) is a clinical haematologist at St. George Hospital, Sydney, Australia. She completed her PhD at University of New South Wales, on “Antibody-mediated thrombocytopenias: mechanisms and potential treatments”, under the supervision of Professor Beng Chong, in 2023. She has 7 first author and 2 middle author peer-reviewed publications, focusing on immune thrombocytopenia as well as diseases and treatments in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis. She has won International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) Early Career Award and was the Scientific Medal Runner Up of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Society of Australia and New Zealand (THANZ) for both 2019 and 2021, as well as the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Theses in 2023. She currently serves as the co-chair for the Scientific and Standardization Subcommittee on Platelet Immunology, ISTH.
