2026 ITP PATIENT CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP
As a national organisation, ITP Australia and New Zealand understand that travelling interstate and intrastate can be expensive for people with Immune Thrombocytopenia. ITP Australia has established a Scholarship funded through various programs and donations.
The purpose of the scholarship program is to enable ITP Patients to travel to the Annual Conference and meet other ITP Patients, Listen and Learn from leading ITP Clinicians and give them the opportunity to share their story and journey with others.
There are three different scholarship categories. These include assistance with travel costs, overnight accommodation, or attending the conference by providing free tickets.

Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria that each applicant must meet for each scholarship category. Note: Applicants are only eligible for one category.
Travel Scholarship

- The applicant must be an ITP Patient or a parent of an ITP Patient; and
- The applicant must live outside the Melbourne City Council areas (including the following Local Government Areas – Inner Metropolitan South East, Metropolitan South, Metropolitan West, Metropolitan North and Metropolitan East); and
- The applicant has purchased a ticket to attend the ITPANZ Annual ITP Patient Conference in Melbourne on Saturday, 7th March 2026.
Accommodation Scholarship

- The applicant must be an ITP Patient or a parent of an ITP Patient; and
- The applicant must live outsidethe Melbourne City Council areas (including the following Local Government Areas – Inner Metropolitan South East, Metropolitan South, Metropolitan West, Metropolitan North and Metropolitan East); OR
- Due to their ITP is required to reduce their travel on the recommendation of their treating clinician (a letter must be provided with your application);
- The applicant has purchased a ticket to attend the ITPANZ Annual ITP Patient Conference in Melbourne on Saturday, 7th March 2026.
Ticket Scholarship

- The applicant must be an ITP Patient or a parent of an ITP Patient; and
- The applicant must live within the Melbourne City Council areas (includes the following Local Government Areas – Inner Metropolitan South East, Metropolitan South, Metropolitan West, Metropolitan North and Metropolitan East; and
- Requires assistance to attend the ITPANZ Annual Patient Conference in Melbourne on Saturday, 7th March 2026, due to financial reasons.
Selection Process
Applicants will be assessed on merit. ITPANZ reserves the right to select recipients at its discretion. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.
Total Scholarship Value
Funding for the Scholarship Program is $2200 (including GST).
Scholarship Application Period
Scholarships close: Sunday, 22 February 2026, and all scholarship winners will be notified in writing. w/c Monday, 2 March 2026.
The scholarship funding will be provided as a reimbursement and is to be used to offset costs for attending the ITPANZ Annual Patient Conference in Melbourne on Saturday, 7th March 2026. Reimbursement forms along with copies of your receipts must be submitted no later than Friday, 10th April 2026, for processing.
Conditions
An ITPANZ representative will assess applicants on a case-by-case basis until the total Scholarship Value has been allocated. By submitting a Scholarship Form, the applicant agrees to and is bound by these terms and conditions.

The ITP Conference Scholarship is solely funded through donations and fundraising.
